Peacock lives in dense trees in mountains and may also be found in grass near rivers. It is not easy to get close to peacock as it always keeps high alert. It is not strong in flying capability. The foods for peacock include wild fruits, seeds, corns and insects. During the period from May to July, the male displays its beautiful feather in the shape of a large fan for the purpose of seeking love with the female.
