Camel can be seen mainly in Xinjiang and Ganshu Province. It lives in the desert and grassland. It can smell the source of water in the desert, and is therefore, called “the boat of the desert”. It withstands high temperature and severe cold weather. It lives on grass and plants in the deserts. Camel mates in spring and keeps pregnant for 13 months before giving birth to a baby camel. The life span may reach 40 years.
